Happy Father's Day!

Even though it's Father's Day it has seemed more like Mother's Day around here. Daddy made us all "Pancake Puffs" for breakfast (I got my pan on sale at the NEX so it wasn't quite as expensive as it is on this site) ...some were filled with homemade strawberry preserves, some with honey, and some with chocolate. Yummy!

After breakfast, I had a long, lazy shower with no interruptions from the children. Niiiice. Then we went out to Home Depot for some garden soil to fill the new raised bed...then a stop by Sam's Club to get some produce. Oh yeah, and I bought the old man lunch there because I'm a big spender! Hahaha. Happy Father's Day, honey. Here's your pizza and soda combo lunch from Sam's! Awww, how special!

After that it was back home. Steven put together a lemonade stand with the kids and then they all sat outside (I was in the pool...ALONE!) to sell lemonade. They actually had 5 customers. One guy paid them $5 for a cup of made-from-concentrate lemonade. Crazy guy, but the kids were thrilled. For dinner it was chicken and shrimp on the grill.

Here are some photos from the past few days. I haven't felt much like writing (still don't, I'm in a funk) and haven't really been very motivated...I think it is heat related. Oh, I did forget to say I've been taking a spinning class on Thursday nights for the past two weeks. We are having another class tomorrow in the afternoon to make up for the fact that Mary is going out of town on Wednesday. I'm supposed to have my drop-spindle bobbin filled but it's just not going to happen. C'est la vie...I'm a busy mama.

My old mail box gains a new life as a planter...

Zucchini buds!

PSU windchimes that my friend Sharon gave me for my birthday

The new raised bed, filled, and planted with tomato and lavender plants

Red bamboo stakes...I spray painted these last week to help give the garden some zing...and I just love the red, too.

I can't believe how light your yard is now. It looks totally different. I think you should hang the new/old mailbox planter from the fence. Honeydoo!

I haven't been in a blogging mood either. I swear it's the heat!

Lori: I tried placing it on the fence at various places...didn't like it there. It ended up in the shade corner with the chairs. We seem to be hanging out over there now that the trees are gone. Lots more light but still some nice shade. Too bad now we have 6 HUGE holes that need to be filled in.

Laura: Thanks! Yep. It's the heat or the planets...I've been quite grumpy, too...but that could be because I never get enough sleep.
