The lawn mower...

did not reign supreme over me! I kicked it's f'ing ass!!! Seriously, our friend Jim looked at it last night (he brings his son to Kindermusik so I said "Hey! Could you just take a quick look and see what you think?!") and he said "Get a new spark plug and fresh gas and then give it another try." So I did. With the very first pull it was on...and then it cut out. I had to let it sit for a few minutes before it would start again. Then it was on...then it cut out. We did this dance about 5 times with me yelling "OH, COME ON!" before I gave up and called Liudwih to see if V. might know what was wrong with the thing but he wasn't home so I called my neighbor Harry and he wasn't home either. Then Delaney got home from school and the kids all had their snack and I thought "I'm going to go out and give it one more try before I put it back in the shed" and it fired right up and stayed on! Waaa-hoo! My yard is completely mowed and it only took an hour...much easier than raking the damn thing, that is for sure. NO lawn mower is going to control me. I'll win every time! You can't keep this girl down for long.

And speaking of not keeping me down...I'm on top of the world because I just ordered myself a spinning wheel. I was going to bid on a Moswolt Hammer wheel on Ebay but after I was outbid on my first try, I realized it was probably going to go higher than I truly wanted to pay...I discovered a place (through Etsy - "ford4him") called Heavenly Handspinning and their wheels are MUCH more affordable than anything else I've seen online - eBay or otherwise - so with a little bit of the tax return, I treated myself to my very own wheel. Yay! Steve got his Wii, I got my wheel. Do you think I can Wii while I spin???

I thought you were also going to get a new TV this summer?!?! And you know, I'm against video games. =)

If I recall, you said the Wii was for the workout video. And the TV is a "family" gift. So the only one not getting a prezzie is your hubbie!!!!

No, the Wii is a family present, too. I simply said I could be convinced to allow it into our house because there are other women working out with some of the games and it sounded like fun! And any video system that allows you to move rather than sitting still for hours on end has to be o.k. (I actually just saw an article that says the Wii games are better at burning calories than Xbox so we made the right decision) Sooo...what would hubby like for his present, then? Sheesh. Whatever happened to "Your happiness is my happiness!"??? You're getting all greedy on me. hee hee =)

'What would hubby like for his present?' Shannon...how long have you been intimate with the male species? Looks like someone will be puttin-out for a long, long, long time in the very near future!

How exciting! I think you made a great choice... Perhaps DH would like a pair of lovingly handspun long johns for Christmas.

Gee this whole conversation sounds so familiar;-p

Perhaps socks... yes that is what every man would want after being stuck on a ship for so long. Handknit socks, a good box of chocolate and a nice stout all to be enjoyed in a nice candle light bath. (Oh, wait... thats what the wife would want!) Damn I would make a great husband;-) LOL

won't get into WHO brought up the topic of buying the Wii only to say it wasn't MY idea. Lori certainly has a grand idea!

usnpao: Of course you would side with Lori.

Lori: Thanks, bitch.

MariHana: I think full-body LOPI WOOL long-johns are a splendid idea! I'm currently carding the wool for those.

Liudwih: will YOU marry me? =)
