The rest of my day

I was busy today but I still don't feel like I've gotten anything accomplished. I did 4 loads of laundry in total, dusted my bathroom and William's bedroom, swapped the summer/winter clothes in the girls' dresser drawers but never made it to their closet. Once Delaney went to school, I ran out to the YMCA with the twinkies (who were too sick to GO to school, you remember) to pay their school bill, then to Food Lion in search of some "Classic India Spice Yogi Tea" that I bought a month ago but can't seem to find anywhere now. After that, it was back home for lunch. I had already bathed Tinna and had William in the bath when the phone rang around 2:15. It was the nurse at Delaney's school. Could I please come get her as she had some pains in her belly and didn't quite make it to the toilet and soiled her pants. Poor girl!!! It's bad enough for something like that to happen at home but at school in front of friends, bah! She's a trooper, though and it seems like she handled it pretty well. My kids and these illnesses lately, I just don't know how to get them better! The nurse is my neighbor so she knows me and the kids. She said the first year in school is always rough on the kids (but Delaney has been in preschool since 3 1/2 so that theory really doesn't hold water with me) and suggested that I keep Delaney home tomorrow to try to protect her immune system from the strep throat that is also going around the school right now...and after a day like today, what she does not need is more exposure to that particular nasty germ! (yeah, and me, too!!!)

So, there you have it.

My friend Lexykahn (hi Lex!) sent this to me and I almost missed it because it went into my bulk mailbox on yahoo. If you can take a moment to do this, I think it is a very nice idea. I did mine already and it only takes a quick minute.

Something nice that Xerox is doing:
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...

Now for the one photo. Little Tinna is doing a trick that I'm loving. She is learning to write her own name. Here is the picture of what she did this morning. *I* think it's pretty good for a 3 year old, but then again, I'm a bit biased. I helped her with the top name but she did the bottom name all by herself.
