Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Ok, so...on Thanksgiving afternoon, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on TV and I put it on the DVR so I could burn it to a DVD for the kids down the road. I didn't think much of it, especially since Delaney watched it that afternoon and about halfway through announced "This movie is BORING!" but kept watching it anyway without further complaint. Since Thanksgiving, Miss Delaney Rose has watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a total of *4* more times! Every afternoon when the babies go to sleep she now says "I want to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! I want to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! I want to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!" over and over and over while jumping up and down. It's a 3 hour movie! For two days, I have had a nap right beside her while she watched the movie. I'm lovin' life and afraid her love affair with the movie will end too suddenly and I'll be left again with nap deprivation.

Not much happened over our 4-day Thanksgiving week-end. Steve was off school on Thanksgiving Day and he took the day off from studying to help cook and put up our Christmas decorations in the front yard. Friday, he tried to go to school only to discover the campus library was closed. He studied in his car for awhile and then came home. When the twins went down for their naps, I took Delaney and we went for haircuts and ran some errands. Then Steve went to school Saturday and Sunday, back to business as normal around here. Last night, we took the kids to see "The Santa Clause III: The Escape Clause", cute, but not exceptional and definitely NOT worth what we paid to get in to the theatre! Still, the kids had a good time and I guess that is what it is all about.

Today it is back to the grind again and I'm hanging out doing laundry. Tomorrow I have to meet with Delaney's teacher for a parent-teacher conference and then I guess I'll be off to the commissary for groceries per usual.

Nothing major on the cooking front so far this week. I made some mini-muffins yesterday but that's about it.

Today the weather has been rainy and windy but the sun is starting to peek out now. The kids had a ball jumping in puddles at the school when I picked up Laney. It is cold in our house...about 65F...we had to put on our heat (finally) two nights ago. It scares me to think what our electricity bill will be next month. Also, something very strange about this house: when the heat kicks on, the drains in the hallway bathroom start gurgling. This is really perplexing since we have electric heat and not hot water pipes. I haven't lived in such a noisy place since my Lock Haven, PA days! Sheesh!
