Where's Waldo?

Thanks Sue! I have a great new avatar on the side of my page. It links to a very cool "Where's Waldo" website. Sue sent me the link earlier today. I have loved Waldo for years. Delaney loves him, too. I'm sure the twins will when they are old enough to read and search for his picture in the Waldo books. What a great guy!

We went to VA Beach last night...left the house around 4 and didn't get home until almost 10:30! Everyone had a great time. I must say, going to the beach around sunset is just the best. We played in the surf (very rough with strong riptides due to the tropical storm that is heading up the coast), did a little metal detecting (found about .75 but still no jewelry!), had hotdogs at Dairy Queen for dinner. We hit the town and walked around. I found a great new dress at Half Moon, a hippy head shop...we had cotton candy, some salt water taffy, and the kids rode rides. We saw all kinds of street performers - singers, a girl dressed in a formal gown playing violin, a girl on stilts, etc etc. It was a great, great night.

Today has been less great but ok. We're all tired. Steven worked on his halloween projects for a bit. I worked on plying my All Spun Up singles. Had a few breaks that I struggled with and a few places where I really overspun them. It's still a learning process and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever spin as well as I want to. I had to take Henry to the vet's at 1 and didn't get home from there until almost 3. When I walked in, Steven was on the phone with work and now he is AT work. They always mess up our week-ends!!! Grrrrr. Stupid people doing stupid stuff...usually involves young sailors who cannot control their drinking. I just hope I can raise my kids to be responsible adults. Anyway...that's how our week-end has gone so far. I'm posting a few photos from last night below and I'm off to walk the dog. Dinner tonight is a chuck roast that's been in the crock all day and smothered with Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Honey sauce. It smells delicious but I'm betting the kids won't like it (and I might not either, since it IS beef). I'm hoping for a nice tender shredded consistency with the beef so we can make barbecue sandwiches. I'll serve sides of french fries and salad.

Enjoy the photos. I'm not going to add titles...I think you can figure it out for yourself!

Do you still have the Waldo glitter stick?

Laura: yes, we love it down there!!!

Sue: of course I do (somewhere). I actually received a comment a few months ago from a woman asking if I'd sell it to her for her daughter. There's no way I'd ever part with it.
