I tried to take it somewhat easy today since the rest of the week is going to be murder with running errands and getting ready to leave for NY. Last week, you'll remember I went to the Asian grocery (did I mention my visit to the Asian and Indian markets??? now I'm wondering if I forgot to tell you about trip led to a delicious dinner Thursday night - butter chicken, spinach pakoras, roti)...anyway, when I was in the Asian grocery, I saw multi-coloured tapioca pearls. I have never seen any colour except white in my life so I picked up the pack and asked the lady at the register if I could make pudding with them. She shook her head no and said "Thai" and something I couldn't understand...I bought them anyway. I emailed my dear friend Mary (hi Mary!) asking her the same question and she shot me back an email that included a recipe link. This morning I made tapioca pudding for the kids for their snack. Only Tinna liked it. I thought it was pretty good but not quite as good as what I've had in the past. I'm thinking maybe too much egg. If you try the recipe, let me know what you think.

The rest of the day was spent spinning the AllSpunUp fleece. I have one bobbin full and have started on the second. Doubtful I will get it filled and around to plying before next week. We also went to check out the pool on the Coast Guard base and it is very nice. Olympic size - it was much bigger than I expected. The locker rooms are decent - old but clean. We can get a family pass next summer for less than $100. The kids made a new friend today and we all had a relaxing time.

The bag of tapioca pearls...

Now all cooked up. It is difficult to see the colours in the photo but they are still there. This would make a very cute side dish at a baby shower!

Some little mushroom cookies that Delaney picked out at the Asian grocery. They were yummy!

This mushroom shaped snack is very popular in Japan, called "KINOKO NO YAMA". It means "Mushroom Mountain." I love it too!
My 2-year-old daughter always eat just the top of them (Chocolate), so everytime I have to eat the rest of them, cookies without chocolate!
I started my English club for Mam and little kids this Monday!
I am teaching how to raise kids in English.
