And then there was light...

A few new photos for you today...not much to report on. We spent most of the day yesterday working in the attic or walking around the mall and Home Depot...mall for shoes for me and Delaney and Home Depot for flooring for our attic.

I did want to mention my spectacular mums that are growing at the mailbox. When my mother visited me in June, she told me to be sure to cut them back by at least one third before July 4. I took her advice and cut them, even though it seemed a bit drastic at the time. Well...look at them now! Beautiful and full! The orange plant is blooming now and the purple is still in bud stage...about to burst open at any moment.

As today is Columbus Day (because, for some reason no one in our country wants to celebrate Leif Eriksson's discovery of Vinland), Steve is home from work and we are going to continue our work up in the attic. Delaney still has school, which is almost a relief, because maybe we can get jobs completed without her constant distractions.

Temps hit 90F yesterday. Yuck. Will fall never arrive??? Is it always like this in VA?!?!

Below are the photos...male and female cardinals (male on left-side top of fence, female on right-side near the sun), mailbox garden with mums and Halloween decorations, and then there was light in our kitchen!, Delaney helping Daddy in the attic...we will be putting shelves on both sides of this doorway today.
