Here's why I love Goodwill Industries...

We had to go to VA Beach this afternoon to pick up an HO Scale Thomas train set that Steve's Uncle Jim purchased for the kids. (Mostly for William but I know they girls will enjoy it, too) While out there, I noticed a Goodwill thrift store. The sign said "Goodwill Superstore". I told Steven we should stop there because we just might find a cabinet that would suit our storage needs in the kitchen.

So...after picking up the train set we stopped over to see what was there. I was in the store for a total of 5 minutes and came out with a girls Lands End down coat for Delaney for the winter (reversible from light pink to fuscia colour) and a pink Old Navy winter coat for Tinna. Each of them was $3.00 plus tax. My total bill being $6.30! Cha-ching!!! Not only that, but my hunch about the cabinet was right on the money. We came away with a 32"wide x 65"tall cabinet that will fit perfectly in our kitchen. It's really a computer cabinet of some sort...slide out shelf, light inside, some smaller shelves up in the top and one big shelf down below...but Steve thinks he can rig it to fit more shelves. Decent shape. $45.00

But wait...it gets even better...on the way to the train store, we passed...

THE SILVER DINER!

Who knew there are Silver Diners in Chesapeake AND VA Beach?!!! You know we had to have dinner there. All the kids got to pick songs on the jukebox and since it was only 5:00 when we went into the place and not very crowded, they actually HEARD their songs tonight, too. Very cool.

From dinner, we were planning on heading to an indoor bouncy place that has $5 Wednesday's but the kids didn't eat very well and were a bit naughty during dinner and paired with the fact that Steve's car was sitting at the inspection station waiting to be picked up (before 8pm), we decided to give it a miss. Maybe we'll try on the week-end if Delaney is feeling up to it (she has her shots on Friday afternoon so I'm not sure how she will be after that).

I'm adding some photos taken in the past two or three days. Not in this order but they are: one taken from my kitchen window of the kids playing in their sandbox. This area was filled with dirt, which Steve dug out over the week-end, and replaced with fresh play sand. They love it and are playing there for hours at a time. Also, some photos of Henry's stitches. The doctor even shaved his two front legs and everytime I look at him I say "Did they try to turn you into a Labradoodle???" because it just reminds me of a poodle cut. The other photos were taken tonight at the train store.
