I KNOW you all are DYING to hear about the concert but first things first...
The loaders showed up here at *6:30* yesterday morning. (Yay, loaders!!!) Again, they came with someone else's overflow on the semi and weren't sure if all of our stuff would fit until the very end. It did, but just barely as they had to pull out the tailgate and shrink wrap the kids' outside toys (in our family these are also known as "big plastic objects") to make it happen.
Let's see...the casualties...someone rolled the hand truck over the sprinkler outside the front door and not only broke off the top but it also snapped the pipe that was down in the ground. Luckily, Steve found the needed tools in the shed to be able to fix it after his run to Home Depot for the replacement piping. The second casualty was a bit more serious...some of our metal shelving fell on one of the guy's heads and he had to be taken to the hospital for stitches. He came back to work when he was finished (apparently he is paid by the day and if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid) and I watched the blood continue to soak the bandage and told him constantly that he really needed to sit down for awhile. He continued to work. Other than that, it was just a long day of watching our furniture and boxes disappear. The movers finished at the same time Donnie and Christina showed up to watch the kids...around 5:30.
I'll have some photos to post later. Today is going to be BUSY. We have to sort all of our stuff and start packing up the U-Haul. Both Steve and I have errands to run and all 3 kids will be here with us.
Until next time when I reivew the Stevie Nicks concert...
