Low Rider, Balboa, and news!

What a big day yesterday turned out to be. We went to the Puppet Theatre in Balboa Park, then to the kiddie area to play and have our lunch (picnic at that!). It was beautiful, sunny, low 70s...really a perfect day. After the park, we went over to Balboa Naval Hospital to pick up some tickets to a local tourist attraction that we are planning to see this week-end (more on that after we do it!). When we were leaving, I spotted this Low Rider. For some of ynz who do not know, Low Riders tend to be popular among the Latino culture - or here in CA - the Mexicans. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowrider This one is the lowest I've ever seen...actually on the ground. Must have some great hydraulic system to lift it, that's for sure. Oh, and I must admit, when we lived in Northern Virginia, I actually had the pleasure (?) of having a cute hispanic guy stop his car beside mine at a stop light and make it go up and down. Yeah, baby! What a turn on...right?!

Now for the news...Steve has finally received confirmation that he will be receiving orders to Norfolk, VA next. We will be leaving CA sometime at the end of May...schlepping all 3 kids, a dog, and a red eared slider turtle back across the country...and setting up house. I'm happy. Closer to home, closer to friends. We're going to try to buy a house this time as he really thinks he can get a follow on tour from the same area after these next two years are finished. After that, well, we'll be done with the Navy so there will be other benefits to living on the East Coast again. Of course, with all of this talk about moving, I'm now having insomnia. I woke last night around 1:30 only to find myself still awake and worrying at 4:30. Three hours of tossing and turning and trying to tell myself not to think about it anymore. I'm sure it will all work out but what a job it's going to be!
