Bread machine woes...

Some of you may remember my mentioning the broken bread machine pan a few weeks ago. Well...I received the new pan in the mail last week and proceeded to make a loaf of bread 3 days ago. The pan kept popping out of the clips during the mixing cycle. I read my instruction manual and tried to pull the pan clips away from the side like it says and I thought the problem was solved. Feeling all self-confident today, I put in ingredients for another loaf. Did the machine work properly? Nope. The pan popped out of the clips a MINIMUM of 5 times before I finally got fed up with it. I grabbed the step-stool and stood there and HELD THE PAN IN PLACE while it mixed for 20 minutes! *sigh* NOW WHAT?! I don't have this kind of time to stand around holding machines together (hell, for that kind of time, I could throw the machine out and mix the dough by hand - isn't that the whole point of having the machine to do it for me? To save me time???) My $90 bread machine is truly pissing me off. I loved it up til now. We were best friends, lovers almost. Now I'm ready to give up. I think it left me for Smelly Couch. I've heard them whispering to each other at night...

Relatively quiet day today. Lots of rain in the morning. Sun came out around noon. I took the kids to the library around 1:30 and they picked out about 20 more books. They are really enjoying their summer reading program and got 2 rewards today. (Small teddy bears and coupons for ice cream at Chick-Fil-A. Oh! and lollipops!) Not only that, but they each received *12* slips for entry into the weekly prize drawing! We've hit 300 reading minutes now and are heading for 500 before the program ends in August. I think we'll make it! If we do, each of the kids will get a backpack. Very cool!

There's not much on for this week. Arts and Crafts at the library tomorrow afternoon. Henry goes to the vet on Wednesday, the twins get school physicals on Thursday. And that's about it.
